SynOSCP5 (the second)

This project, SynOscP5, is a library for the Processing environment. It adds support for building OSC messages in the SYN namespace.

The SYN namespace is a proposition for a standardized namespace to connect synthesizers through OSC.
The latest version of the SYN namespace can be downloaded here: ~~http://stud3.tuwien.ac.at/~e0725639/OSC-SYN.txt~~ http://github.com/fabb/SynOSCopy/wiki.

The SYN namespace is being developed by Fabian Ehrentraud. The SynOscP5 library is being developed by Alvaro.

SynOscP5 is a layer of abstraction upon javaOSC. The the SYN Namepace aims to recycle the knowledge acquired through decades of MIDI usage. On the downturn, it is a complicated namespace. The SynOscP5 library is meant to solve this problem by offering a user-friendly interface to SYN, constructed around a flow pattern and providing intuitive methods.

e.g. building a message: C4 at 50% volume to voice 1 on synth 1
SynMessage msg = new SYN().synth(1).voice(1).note("C4").velocity(50);

This project, SynOscP5, is a library for the Processing environment. It adds support for building OSC messages in the SYN namespace.

The SYN namespace is a proposition for a standardized namespace to connect synthesizers through OSC.

The SYN namespace is being developed by Fabian Ehrentraud. The SynOscP5 library is being developed by me.

SynOscP5 is not a substitute for OscP5, but depends on and extends it to address some specific problems:

* According to Fabian, the SYN namespace itself is "a proposal for a standardized namespace within OSC. It should have all possibilities of MIDI" and help make OSC more popular.

* SYN is meant to be precise and transport information as loss-free as possible. On the downturn, it is a complicated namespace. SynOscP5 is meant to offer a user-friendly interface to SYN, by using a flow pattern and providing overloaded methods for setting values more intuitively.

* SynOscP5 hopes to lower the treshold on building audio interfaces in Processing.
